Privacy-First Finances: Share What You Want, Keep the Rest Yours

Your Money, Your Privacy

Most couples finance apps force you to share everything. Halfway was built on a different principle: you decide what's shared. Every transaction starts as personal by default. Only when you mark something as "shared" does it become visible to your partner and count toward your split.

How Privacy Works in Halfway

When you add a transaction or sync one from your bank, you classify it with a simple swipe or tap:

  • Shared: Visible to both partners, counts toward your split ratio
  • Personal: Only you can see it, completely private

Your partner can never access your personal transactions. Not through the app, not through Penny (our AI assistant), not through reports. The separation is absolute.

Why This Matters

Financial independence within a relationship isn't about secrecy. It's about autonomy. You should be able to buy a birthday gift, treat yourself to something nice, or save for a surprise without it showing up in your partner's feed. That's not hiding anything. That's being a thoughtful partner.

Bank-Level Security

All your data is encrypted with 256-bit AES encryption, the same standard used by major banks. We never sell your data, never show ads, and never share information with third parties. Your financial life is yours alone.

Getting Started

Privacy is built into every part of Halfway. There's nothing to configure. Just sign up free and start adding transactions. Mark them as shared or personal, and let Halfway handle the rest.
