Bank Sync Is Optional

Many couples prefer to add transactions manually. Maybe you're outside the US and Canada where bank sync is available. Maybe you like the mindfulness that comes with recording each purchase. Or maybe you just don't want to share your bank credentials with any app. All of these are perfectly valid reasons, and Halfway fully supports manual entry.

How Manual Entry Works

Adding a transaction takes about 10 seconds:

  1. Tap the + button
  2. Enter the amount and description
  3. Choose a category
  4. Mark it as shared or personal
  5. Done

You can also ask Penny to log transactions for you by typing something like "Log $45 for groceries, split shared." She'll create it and ask you to confirm.

Works Worldwide

While automatic bank syncing is currently available in the US and Canada, manual entry works everywhere. Couples in any country can use Halfway to track shared expenses, set budgets, and settle up fairly.

Completely Free

Manual entry is unlimited on the Free plan. You can add as many transactions as you want, create budgets, set goals, and track your net worth without paying anything. Premium adds bank syncing, AI features, and more, but the core experience is entirely free.
