What couples DO want? To save money for Hawaii. To stop fighting about DoorDash. To feel like they're building something together instead of just splitting bills.
So we built something completely different.
Introducing: Couple Challenges
Think: Couch to 5K, but for your finances (and your relationship).
How it works:
- Pick a challenge together ("No Takeout for 7 Days")
- Both accept (can't cheat!)
- Check in daily
- Watch savings stack up
- Celebrate together when you complete it
Simple. Fun. Actually works.
Why We Built This
Last month, a user named Sarah emailed us:
"My partner and I tried to 'save money' for 6 months. We never saved anything. Then we did your 'No Coffee Shops' challenge for 7 days and saved $47. Why did THAT work when nothing else did?"
The answer? Humans are terrible at abstract goals ("save money") but excellent at concrete games ("don't buy coffee for 7 days").
Add a partner who's doing it WITH you? Now you've got accountability, teamwork, and someone to celebrate with when you win.
Budgeting apps give you spreadsheets. We gave you something you actually want to open every day.

The Couple Accountability Factor
Solo habit tracking apps? You can cheat. Nobody knows.
Couple challenges? Your partner gets a notification when you slip up. Good luck explaining that Starbucks charge.
We built it so:
- Both partners must accept the challenge to start
- Both check in daily ("Did you stick to it today?")
- Both see real-time progress (money saved, days completed, streak)
- Both celebrate when you complete it together
You're accountable to each other. And weirdly, that makes it... fun?

How It Actually Works (The Fun Part)
Step 1: Pick a Challenge
Browse our library or create your own. See difficulty level and estimated savings.
Step 2: Invite Your Partner
They get a notification: "Your partner wants to do a challenge with you!"
They accept (or suggest a different one).
Step 3: Daily Check-Ins
"Did you order takeout today?"
- ✅ Nope, stayed strong!
- 😅 Oops, slipped up
Your partner sees your answer. Accountability FTW.
Step 4: Track Progress Together
See:
- Days remaining
- Money saved so far
- Both partners' status
- Projected final savings
Step 5: Celebrate!
Complete the challenge → Confetti animation → Badge unlocked → See total saved
Then pick your next challenge. (It's addictive.)
But What If My Partner Won't Join?
Good news: You can do challenges solo too.
How it works:
- You do the challenge
- Partner sees your progress
- Partner can send encouragement
- You still get accountability (they're watching!)
Example: You're doing "No Sugar for 14 Days" (solo)
Partner's view:
They tap it, send: "So proud of you babe! 🎉"
You get notification. Motivation boost.
Still partner-focused, even when solo.
